Woman Steals Laptop As It’s Delivered To Huntersville Home: Video

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Huntersville police are searching for a brazen porch pirate suspect who pulled in behind a FedEx driver as he made a delivery of a new laptop and posed as the homeowner to intercept the package.

The incident occurred April 22 in the 1200 block of Heath Grove Drive around 2:30 p.m., according to Huntersville Police Department.

In a video of the incident, an unknown white female is seen pulling into the home’s driveway after the FedEx delivery truck stops in front of it. She was driving a blue or gray Honda Accord, HPD said.

Inside the package was a new silver in color Microsoft Surface Pro laptop and a compatible keyboard, police said. The woman could now face charges of fraud and larceny, HPD said.

Homeowner Estefania Rauseo told Patch that there have been no package thefts in her neighborhood before the incident unfolded in her driveway. She posted the video on her Facebook page, asking if anyone had video of the woman driving in the community.

“Today we were robbed by this lady right in front of our house,” Rauseo said. “She pulled in our driveway and took our package, pretending she lives here. Be aware that this is going on in our community.”
