VUT embroiled in R20m laptop tender scandal after going ‘independent procurement route’

This after the university decided to abandon a tender process last year because bidders could not meet the targets. The university has previously been embroiled in allegations of mismanagement relating to the processes followed when awarding cwork to companies.
