Uttar Pradesh: Denied Android phone by father, 16-year-old hangs self in Kanpur | Kanpur News
According to police, 16-year-old Satyam Dwivedi, son of Raj Kumar Dwivedi, was a student of class XII at a local college. Satyam was demanding an Android mobile phone from his father for the past few days.
His father told him to wait for some time as he was facing financial constraints, police said. Unhappy over his father’s reply, Satyam took the extreme step, his family informed the cops.
According to inspector, Naubasta police station, Satish Kumar Singh: “On Saturday night, he repeated his demand. But when his parents turned down his demand, citing financial constraints, the boy locked himself in his room. When he did not come out for long, his mother Sulekha went inside the room and found him hanging. She immediately raised an alarm and informed her husband and other members of the family, who informed police,” Singh further said.
The body was sent for post mortem examination and further investigations are continuing in this regard, he said.
