Plugging laptop into power bar or directly to the wall

I’ve been enjoying having my ASUS ROG flashing a beautiful orange and green at the charger light. I’ve done much to stop it, such as removing the new ASUS battery, holding down on the Power Button for 30 seconds and naught works.

Someone said removing the Power Adapter plug from a Power Bar and plug it directly into the wall outlet might do the fix.

Following that tremendous advice & for the last day or so, the charging light is remaining an eye catching steady green. I guess my query is, what makes the difference by plugging it into a Power Bar or directly to the wall outlet.
