Google Still Can’t Figure Out What Breaks Down Audio on Android Auto
Google has recently confirmed that while it’s working on fixing the audio issues users come across when connecting their Galaxy Note20 to the head unit in their cars to run Android Auto, more feedback is required to determine the cause of the problems.
“I have the new Note 20 Ultra. When I connect to Android Auto I can select something like Google Play Music or YouTube Music (or any other source) and there is no sound. The display shows that it’s playing but there is nothing. If I unplug the phone and use the Bluetooth connection, the music plays fine. Even when I can’t play music, phone calls work as expected while using Android Auto,” one user explained back in August.
Google first replied in August and then requested users to provide more information on the problem in September, explaining that it needs additional data to develop a fix for the bug.
And now the company reveals that the Android Auto audio struggles still haven’t been resolved, and the Android Auto team once again needs additional diagnosis data to figure out what exactly happens on the affected Galaxy Note20 models.
“Thanks for all the reports. Our team would like to investigate this further. It would be great if you could send us a bug report from your phone to diagnose the root cause of the issue. We’ll send an email with instructions on how to capture a bug report. Please reply directly to the email with your information,” Google says in this discussion thread on the forums where users are encouraged to contribute with more feedback.
Worth emphasizing that the issue doesn’t happen on all Galaxy Note20 models, so right now, Google is the only one that can figure out what’s happening.
