Cop working stolen laptop case for disabled vet helps him get a new one during the holidays – Shore News Network

AKRON, OH – An Akron police detective who was working on a case of a stolen laptop for a disabled American veteran hasn’t been able to catch the perpetrator or retrieve the laptop, but he has been able to replace the device for the man.

On November 12th, a suspect stole a laptop from an apartment in the 900 block of E. Market St. The laptop belonged to Mr. Hershberger, who is a disabled veteran. Mr. Hershberger relied on his laptop as a source of communication and entertainment, as he is a wheelchair-bound paraplegic and is also speech impaired. APD Detective Ken Dies, who is working to solve the case, was able to get a laptop donated to Mr. Hershberger from his family’s business, Dies Electric. Mr. Hershberger was very happy and grateful to Detective Dies for this gift.

Now, Detective Die wants to see if the community can help him catch, “Jeremy”, the suspect who stole the laptop.

The suspect is described as ‘Jeremy’ (last name not known), a white male, 30 years old, 5’6”-5’9”, with short brown hair.
